Leadership Education – Can Your Children Possibly Become the Movers and the Shakers of the Future?

Friday, November 27th, 2009

I don’t only believe they can, I believe it’s their destiny.

Every time I watch little children I am stunned over and over again by their incredible capacity to soak in this new experience called life. They seem to assimilate huge amounts of information in so little time, growing exponentially and without prejudice in any direction life challenges them to go.

Truly, children are born geniuses. All of them. As a matter of fact, every person you have ever met is a genius. We live in a world of geniuses. It is what we are here for.

Our call in this world goes beyond surviving the odds as good as we can. We are called to develop ourselves adequately and to leave a legacy, to reach out into a hurting world and make it a better place to live in.

Each little child is fashioned for greatness. And each one of them is called to impact this world for good and to become an effective leader for tomorrow’s generation.

Yes, greatness is not beyond the reach of any child. And depending on the education they’ll receive, they will develop their genius to a higher or lesser degree.

That makes the goal of any educational method very simple. The word education comes from the Latin word educare, which means “to draw out.” True education will draw out a child’s genius. Period.

But what does that type of effective education look like? Throughout the history mankind this question has been answered in a myriad of different ways.

I personally believe that education cannot be put into a box. A good education allows the individual greatness of each child to emerge and develop. Therefore it looks very different from one child to the other.

Each one of them is a unique little person endued with a distinctive combination of God-given skills and talents that were placed there to fulfill the task they were called to accomplish here on earth.

And each one needs a tailor-made education to grow into what they were born to become.

We as parents have the responsibility to equip them with an education that will effectively prepare them for the challenges and opportunities of their generation.

Each generation faces its own share of crisis. And each crisis will instantly demand effective leadership. We as parents have to ask ourselves, “Will our children be ready to adopt the position of leadership they were destined for?”

So, how can we settle for anything less but the best education?

So Many Reasons for Moving Abroad

Friday, July 24th, 2009

Why would someone move abroad? In fact, there are a variety of reasons. Some people may be looking for employment opportunities. Many times people are traveling abroad in order to go to school. Some people, though only want to spend more to have fun.

Many people go abroad for further employment opportunities. Perhaps what most of the numbers of people sent abroad programs are teaching the English language. English is the language spoken around the world. Anyone who wants to succeed in a global market should speak English. One can easily find a job teaching English in any number of foreign countries. One does not need a title or something beyond a basic understanding of English-speaking native. What people in foreign countries are looking for, but it is not practical. There are many companies that send people abroad so that one needs to put a lot of thought into what the program is implemented. Many times there are contracts that they should do a little research. The best way to learn a language after all, is to use it. In fact the work is very important in moving abroad.

Another group of people who move abroad are students. Studying abroad can be one of the most enriching experiences of life. For someone who wants to specialize their knowledge in something like ancient Egypt, is virtually integrated. You really have to have the ancient ruins in front of them to measure things and explore and translate. For someone trying to learn a foreign language can not be otherwise. One really has to be fully emerged in the language to gain a true understanding. In fact, one has to spend years living abroad to actually have an understanding of any language. Most languages have all sorts of subtle nuances and jargon that can only be collected by the constant use. For this reason, many students choose to study not just abroad, but then decide on moving abroad later.

Some people just want to have fun with their lives. Moving abroad is seen by some as a way to live for fun. People who are only interested in extreme sports, for example, almost always need to move abroad. Although at times close to home there are some extreme environments such as the Colorado Rockies, most people when they think about the extreme excursions, think of the Himalayas. When one takes seriously a thing as an expedition in the Himalayas, and then you have to really think about moving abroad. Other sports such as surfing too often people sent abroad to exotic locales. People are never content to just surf the coast itself again and again. People can not move just once but many times.

Moving To America has become easy now

Friday, July 24th, 2009
America can be a land of opportunity to many people. This is why so many people are still moving to America. America can be a great place to find jobs and improve your living situation. America also gives immigrants things they would not normally receive in their own countries like public education and other social services. Maybe the best reason though is that America has the freedoms that other countries do not. All sorts of people are always moving to America. When most people move, it is because of work. America, although recently in an economic decline, still has all sorts of jobs open for people. Often these jobs are not the kinds of jobs that most people would find desirable. For instance, the fast food industry is always hiring. Other types of jobs that one might categorize as menial work are also always hiring. After all who really wants to do a “dirty job” for a living. These types of jobs have very high turn over rates. People do not always realize that in other countries people do not even have the option of taking on a bad job. Those people are moving to America for the opportunity to work at all. People are not only moving to America for better jobs though. People also move to America for better opportunities available to themselves and their children in the form for free public services. Not every country has things like free education or welfare for those not making enough. Free education is especially attractive to most people in poor countries. It is invaluable to parents who did not have the opportunity to get educated. It gives them hope that their children will have a better childhood than they had. It gives them hope that their children could go on to do great things and not be destined to live the same miserable life that often times their parents had to live. People take so much for granted in America. Even having just set up public works to have working drainage systems is reason enough for some people to consider moving to America. A thing people say is Americans take for granted their freedom. This is maybe more of a stereotype about Americans. Americans are usually very aware of many of their freedoms. Freedom of religion for instance is very apparent in America. Practicing religions practice are everywhere and very, very openly in America. This is not the case in other countries so people are moving to America to have the same freedom. Another freedom that Americans are very aware of and that is very desirable to those that do not have it, is freedom of speech. Americans definitely know that they can say whatever they want at anytime they choose and do so. Other people are moving to America to do the same.
